Which Type of Filler Do I Need?

Injectables, such as the family of Juvederm® fillers our Naples, FL, practice offers, each have their own strengths based on unique formulations. The most suitable filler for you depends on which area of the face you’re interested in enhancing and what look you’re hoping to achieve. Even if your friends have fillers that look amazing on them, those treatments might not necessarily be right for you, because your skin condition and facial features are different.

Our team is always available to discuss the various options with you so we can help you find the treatment that’s ideal for you. Here are some cosmetic conditions fillers are typically used to treat:

Deep Lines and Wrinkles

Hyaluronic acid-based facial fillers are designed for restoring volume to the skin to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles. Many of the fillers in the Juvederm® collection are designed for correcting the deep skin creases and wrinkles that occur around the center and lower area of the face, such as nasolabial folds. Juvederm Ultra® and Ultra® Plus are both effective for these lines, but Ultra® works best for more superficial wrinkles. Refyne® and Defyne® are similar fillers from Restylane®. The semi-permanent, collagen stimulator filler Sculptra® Aesthetic that encourages gradual collagen production is also used for wrinkles on the lower two-thirds of the face.

Cheeks

Whether you’re self-conscious about pinched cheeks or want to give rounder cheeks a more sculpted appearance, hyaluronic acid fillers can be used for both of these purposes. Juvederm Voluma® can make the cheeks higher and give them a more youthful curve. Collagen stimulators like Sculptra® Aesthetic, which are also used for bony cheekbones, are meant for patients who have lost a significant amount of facial fat.

Lips

Lighter hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm Ultra®, are ideal for volumizing the lips or altering their shape. Restylane Silk® and the newer filler Kysse add subtle plumpness to the lips while smoothing lines on or around the mouth. Collagen-stimulating fillers aren’t used for the lips.
